A radon protection officer must be consulted as soon as the result of the dose assessment exceeds 6 mSv/a for one or more employees. Radon protection officers advise the person in charge of a company on radon protection issues.

Radon protection officers are involved in the implementation of the necessary radon protection measures and supervise compliance with them. They inform the person responsible for a company immediately of any deficiencies identified and make suggestions for remedying them. In addition, radon protection officers carry out radon protection training with the affected employees of a company.
