The representatives of the Radon Specialist Unit were delighted with the well-attended event. Around 80 people attended the evening to find out more about radon and its health effects.

The event provided an overview of the topics of radon protection, effects on health, the possibility of free radon measurements for private individuals, radon protection in the workplace and the legal basis for radon protection. In addition, structural radon protection in new and existing buildings and funding opportunities from the Upper Austrian government were discussed. provincial government.

Radon and its health effects are often underestimated due to its natural occurrence. For this reason, the Radon Office organizes information events in Austrian municipalities in the radon protection area to make people aware of the effects of radon indoors and to protect them.

Following the individual presentations, questions from the audience were answered and practical examples were discussed. The event was very well received by the participants and many open questions about radon and radon protection were clarified.
