A total of 69 participants accepted the invitation of the Radon Center and the Carinthian provincial government to the 2nd meeting of the Radon Network Austria in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee. Almost 30% of the participants were already present at the kick-off event in Linz in 2021 and it was particularly nice to see you all again and to "refresh" the contacts accordingly.

Stakeholders, authorities, companies and interested citizens came together for the second time on October 6 and 7 in Klagenfurt at the meeting of the Radon Network Austria: The network, which was initiated on behalf of the BMLUK, is both a contact point for advice and an unbureaucratic communication and cooperation platform for all aspects of radon.

At the network meeting, construction experts report on successes and difficulties in radon remediation and radon prevention measures in new buildings. A technical excursion to a school building in Klagenfurt, where radon remediation measures have been successfully implemented in recent years, will show how they can be implemented in practice.

"Radon protection is health protection - that's why we need an open discussion and broad information on this topic. We have taken many important steps in the last two years. We now want to talk about this in the radon network. I would like to thank all participants and organizers for their commitment and wish them an exciting exchange," said Climate Protection Minister Leonore Gewessler.
